Inspired by the experience of living, the art of SAORI zen weaving encourages self expression, personal growth, and healing. SAORI lets us celebrate the beauty of our imperfections by weaving differing colors, threads and textures into a fabric that reflects the masterpiece of our own humanity.
Loop of the Loom is a weaving dojo for everyone. We connect your creative mind to your true self with the guidance of the simple method of SAORI. To explore your imagination and skill, Loop of the Loom also introduces natural fibers, sustainable dye and no-waste clothing design.

You'll learn how to dye fabric with Bengala using a Japanese Tsutsugaki-zome technique.
One of a Japanese traditional dye technique, Tsutsugaki dye is a color resist-dye method using a paste. In Japan it is a traditional method of using paste made with rice. We will start hand-drawing with the paste over a tenugui cloth, then color with a brush. You can dye the background of Tsutsugaki pasted cloth in the bengala color dye bath!
