Inspired by the experience of living, the art of SAORI zen weaving encourages self expression, personal growth, and healing.
SAORI lets us celebrate the beauty of our imperfections by weaving differing colors, threads and textures into a fabric that reflects the masterpiece of our own humanity.

Workshop: 10:00am - 4:30pm
Trunk Sale: 4:30pm - 6:00pm (open for public)
Sashiko is the traditional Japanese art of decorative mending stitches. In this 6-hour workshop, you will learn about the art and history of Sashiko, how to use a long needle and make beautiful stitches, and how to find joy in stitching. This is a unique opportunity to learn authentic Sashiko stitching from a traditional master, Atsushi Futatsuya, a third-generation Sashiko artist.
Following the workshop, we will be hosting a trunk sale open to the public of Upcycle Stitches’s Sashiko supplies including kits, fabric, threads, and artworks.
