Kakishibu Dye Workshop

Kakishibu Dye Workshop

Sunday, November 4, 2018
2:00pm - 4:00pm

Introducing a new product "Kakishibu dye" which is fermented from organic persimmon juice. It's a representative natural dye of Japan as much as indigo.  Kakishibu had been used for everyday goods because it strengthens the fiber and makes it waterproof. After dyeing, the amber color deepens by oxidization.  While dyeing a zipper pouch, staining a
paper and a wooden coaster with Kakishibu, you'll learn about beneficial ancient dye.
Note: The fermentation smell after dyeing lasts about one week.

Fee & Materials: $80
