Beginner Sessions

Sit, relax, and let go.  You can start weaving by yourself within a minute. Experience the SAORI way with over 500 materials!

2-hour Introductory Session

Experiment with SAORI weaving! No experience necessary. We will guide you throughout the weaving process.

  • Weave on a pre-set loom.
  • Take your creation home with you.
  • By appointment at your own convenience. 
  • You can take this single session class as many times as you'd like.
  • 1 small size loom for 4-5 yrs old is available by request.

Mindful Zen Weaving Session

Let yourself unwind, express yourself, and explore different ideas and materials for as long as you like during our studio hours from 11am to 6pm! Enjoy your day-long excursion through mindfulness zen weaving in our therapeutic atmosphere.

  • Weave with a pre-set loom.
  • Take your creation home with you.
     
 

Advanced Packages

Let's learn from how to set up your loom to making a garment!  Your project goal is unlimited. Students of Advanced Class are allowed to use premium yarns in the studio, our sewing machine and SAORI clothing patterns. Spinning lesson is available by request.

Advanced Class A

Learn to set up your own warp and finish 1 or 2 major projects such as scarf, bag, tapestry, etc. You'll receive an individual consultation and project guidance.

  • Prerequisite: a Beginner Class
  • This semi-private class will be made by appointment.
  • Completion in 6 weeks or renew the class to continue.

Advanced Class B

Want to weave a longer tapestry? Or challenge yourself to a sewing project? We teach you how to warp and sew with a SAORI woven fabric to make a one-of-a-kind item.

  • Prerequisite: a Beginner Class
  • This semi-private class will be made by appointment.
  • Completion in 12 weeks, or renew the class to continue.

Advanced Class C

For weavers who find themselves with project ideas that never end — tapestries, sculpture, accessories, garments, and beyond!
 

  • Prerequisite: Beginner Class
  • This semi-private class will be made by appointment.
  • Completion in 16 weeks, or renew the class to continue.

One Month Studio Pass

Work on your own projects within a month.

  • Prerequisite Advanced Class and warping skill.
  • This is not an instructional session. Must have enough knowledge of technique and processes to begin developing independence.
  • Supportive guidance will encourage continued growth for becoming a SAORI instructor and/or a member of SAORI Leader's Committee.
  • May bring your own yarn and material to weave with our permission.
  • Make an appointment to reserve your loom.
 

Kid's Classes

Our class provides a process-oriented program that empowers every child to create and self express with confidence without the fear of making a mistake. Children of different levels can learn together while pursuing their own individual felting, spinning, sewing, and weaving projects with semi-private instruction and guidance.  Their works can be displayed at our exhibition and fashion show.

Growing Crafters 

Weekly Afterschool Kids Class (ages 7-12)
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays
4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

  • Guidance to set up simple warping process.
  • Introduce creative weaving and encourage the development of students' skills by spinning and felting from natural fiber, dyeing, sewing, knitting and crochet.
  • Multiple projects of different durations and levels of expertise (such as belt, hat, bag, pillow, accessory, garment, tapestry) are chosen by the student.
  • Customized support based on students' levels.

Sprouting Weavers

Project-based Drop-off Class (ages 5-14)
1.5 hr per session

Our staff introduces your child to the joys of weaving and unique projects from their woven art.  We will advise students on their project of choice based on their age and skill level.

Special Services for Groups

Traveling workshops, demonstrations, school fairs, parties, and home schooling classes.

Traveling Workshop

Hands-on demonstrations, various events and a small group class on-site.

  • 2-hour weaving workshop includes;  1 instructor, 1 SAORI loom, all materials
  • Participants can take home their artwork depending on the type of event.

Birthday Parties / Group Sessions

Weaving parties are a great way to share and make memories with others. Handmade creations make their party celebration extra special and unique!

Homeschool Family Class

Encourage developing manipulative skills by weaving, spinning and sewing to home schooling families.

 

  • Must have 4 people to register the class.
  • Customized program for the group.
 
 

Felting

Needle Felting

$50 / 2 hour 

Materials are included

  • It's fun once you master how to deal with a sharp needle.  Felting needle is a magic needle. This simple tool can make 3-dimensional form freely.  We patiently teach to students how to create safely and have fun the process of felting! 
  • In a 2 hour class, you can make 1-2 small animals.
  • If you want to do at home after the class, you can buy a felting kit and fleece at Loop of the Loom. 
  • Ages recommend 8 years old - adult
