Itajime-shibori Wooden Pattern Assorted Set

Itajime-shibori Wooden Pattern Assorted Set

Itajime shibori is a shaped-resist technique. Traditionally, the cloth is sandwiched between two pieces of wood, which are held in place with string, c-clamp or elastic band. The shapes prevent the dye from penetrating the fabric they cover.
We duplicated a pair of wooden plates from a Japanese traditional pattern. You can design the cloth’s pattern by folding ways such as triangle, square, or more.

This pair is good for a tea cloth size fabric. If you’d like to dye larger size of fabric, you need to have more plates in the middle of layers of fabric.
