Nuno

This Nuno series are produced by a studio in Kyoto, Japan which is specialized in hand loomed textiles of hand-plied ASA (hemp) fibers with a stiff texture most suitable for interior design. This studio is one of the few companies keeping this hand-weaving industry alive. These textiles, once commonplace in East Asia, are now practically extinct. Weaving with hand-plied warps, especially, is a highly skilled art that has died out in almost all Asian weaving communities with th spread of modernization.
