New York SAORI kai

Join us at our next SAORI-kai on Saturday November 22, at 4:00 - 6:00 pm.
This event is free to members of New York SAORI kai. There is an $20 fee to others. You may sign up anytime to become a member.

Get inspiration from New York SAORI kai. ('kai' means a club or gathering in Japanese.)
We gather every other month at Loop of the Loom to reveal our SAORI works.

SAORI kai was started in January, 2008 by students of Loop of the Loom who urged me to set up a New York gathering for anyone interested in SAORI. No experienced necessary. Anyone can join!

The aim of this meeting is comprehended in these SAORI slogans:

Consider the differences between people and machines.
Let’s adventure beyond our imaginations.
Let’s look out through eyes that shine.
Let’s learn from everyone in the group.

We try to follow these four SAORI slogans because to free ourselves from conventional ways of weaving is sometimes very challenging for us. Bring your work. Don't worry if you only have a small piece. Show us, wear it and tell.the story about it. Ask questions. Share your ideas. Improve your skills!

We welcome the inexperienced and the beginner. See you at the New York SAORI kai!

Annual fee:	$75 (single admission: $20)
Includes:	Members-only mailing group Share patterns and albums 10% discount on SAORI books, gift certificates 5% discount on SAORI yarns (only by the cone)

Loop of the Loom Co-op

Become a part of Loop of the Loom to work as a SAORI instrustor. You will have opportunities to teach SAORI at our studio, off-site workshop, or schools. We will work together!

Also we will take your work on consignment to sell at craft fair, websites (e.g. this website and/or Etsy.com) or in our studio.

No fee! Just you need to sign our contract to work with us.

Attention SAORI weavers and SAORI loom owners!! Loop of the Loom needs your help!

Can you donate your time and possibly your loom for events and workshops that are outside the studio? These would be opportunities to visit schools, hospitals, facilities and homes where Saori weaving would be very beneficial.
